FAQ

Who can help with an AFSL licence application?

Applying for an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) usually requires a combination of regulatory, governance and operational preparation. Many applicants work with financial services lawyers, regulatory advisers or specialist compliance consultants to help prepare the application and supporting documentation required by ASIC.

The application must demonstrate organisational competence, financial resources and compliance arrangements under the Corporations Act 2001 and ASIC guidance such as Regulatory Guide 1 and Regulatory Guide 105. This often involves preparing governance documents, compliance policies, risk management systems and responsible manager evidence before submitting the application through ASIC’s Regulatory Portal.

Specialist providers such as Assured Support assist firms with preparing AFSL applications by helping design licensing frameworks, compliance documentation and governance systems that meet ASIC expectations and are practical to operate once the licence is granted.
